Southern California-based King’s Seafood Company will reopen King’s Fish House Carlsbad this Monday, December 3. The long-established restaurant group operates several other restaurants in the San Diego area including downtown’s Water Grill, Lou & Mickey’s in the Gaslamp, and a King’s Fish House outpost in Mission Valley.
The 7,065-square foot space, located off of Palomar Airport Road across from the Carlsbad Premium Outlets, has been closed for the last few months for a multi-million dollar remodel. The 15-year-old restaurant has been redesigned and modernized by Hatch Design Group with nautical themes, updated indoor and outdoor seating, and new elements that include a wrap-around cocktail and raw bar and floor-to-ceiling garage doors. With a menu dominated by seafood (the restaurant’s parent company also runs its own seafood distribution center), King’s Fish House is featuring local mussels from nearby Carlsbad Aquafarm as well as regional oysters and wild San Diego rock crab at the raw bar.
