North County Roastery Expands in Carlsbad

Leap Coffee, whose original roastery and cafe opened at Carlsbad Gateway Center in 2016, has added a new location at The Shoppes at Carlsbad. It joins a mix of eateries at the center which includes Lucha Libre Taco Shop, Luna Grill, and Sweet Cloud Creamery. The mall’s restaurant row will continue to grow; other restaurants landing soon include the all-you-can-eat Brazilian-style steakhouse Texas de Brazil and the eighth area outpost of Breakfast Republic.

Now open starting at 6 a.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. on weekends, the cafe serves a menu of toasts, sandwiches, salads, and grain and granola bowls. Its small-batch coffee ranges from blends to a rotating selection of single origin coffee, featured as pour overs or in specialty coffee drinks.
