Trust Brings James Beard Dinner Back Home
What: Last month’s sold out dinner by the Trust Restaurant team at the esteemed James Beard House in New York City, dubbed “Sunny San Diego”, will be recreated for hometown diners. The five course dinner, showcasing local ingredients from San Diego and Baja, will begin with hors d’oeuvres ranging from house cured country ham to Pacific oysters and includes octopus with housemade ‘nduja and barbecued quail with pine risotto, plus beverage pairings.

The Tuesday Taco Takeover Continues at Galaxy Taco
What: Galaxy Taco executive chef Christina Rivera, who has generously invite an impressive roster of guest chefs in her kitchen for the La Jolla eatery’s Tuesday Takeover series, next hosts chef Marcus Twilegar or Franco on Fifth. Twilegar, who previously worked at Parc Restaurant & Nightclub and Tender Greens, will be offering three special tacos, including Baja striped bass cooked in a barrel smoker with achiote, guajillo crema, avocado, and crispy skin in a squid ink tortilla and chorizo pork belly with sunchoke, preserved buddhas hand and fresno chili with pickled coriander in a black garlic tortilla.

The Spotlight’s On White Truffles at Juniper & Ivy
What: There are a few precious seats left for the Little Italy restaurant’s white truffle extravaganza. Designed by executive chef Anthony Wells, the communal-style dinner will include six courses featuring the prized ingredient from Italy’s Piedmont region, ranging from chestnut tagliatelle to white truffle ice cream. Beverage pairings will include wine Barolo and Alba as well as an exclusive cocktail.

Paradise Hills Night Market Returns
What: Showcasing the community of Paradise Hills, this popular night market is back with a variety of food vendors including Hunters Home Kitchen, Bread & Cheese Catering, House of Bao, MeKa Coffee SD and Sarap Asian Fusion plus an array of entertainers including artists, DJs, and singers. And get a jump on holiday shopping with crafts and apparel from local independent retailers.

Kettner Exchange, You & Yours Distilling, and Catalina Offshore Team Up
What: Seafood will be the star of a collaboration dinner, hosted by You & Yours Distilling Co. at its East Village tasting room. Catalina Offshore’s Tommy Gomes will be on hand for a seafood demo and to share his expertise on sustainable seafood, with Kettner Exchange’s executive chef Brian Redzikowski cooking a five course menu featuring fresh catch from the local seafood company paired with cocktails from You & Yours will include ahi tuna ribbons with radish, chive, avocado, and kaffir-soy and shrimp and grits with celery and Tabasco.
