This is a sad one. Ceviche House has announced its shutter in Old Town. Founded by chef Juan Carlos Récamier, Ceviche House started as a food vendor at local farmer’s markets and moved into its first storefront on 30th Street in North Park in 2015. Last fall, Récamier made the bold and big leap to launch a 2,400-square-foot restaurant in the center of tourist trap-laden Old Town.
The chef, who is known for his work in sustainability through his support of San Diego area fishermen, wanted to spark a shift in Old Town by focusing on local and seasonal ingredients and highlighting the flavors of modern Mexican cuisine.
