A huge new brewery and restaurant, spanning 8,000-square-feet of downtown real estate, is scheduled to launch this coming Monday, January 22. If you haven’t peeked inside The Bell Marker, check out its freshly remodeled digs on Broadway. Formerly The Beer Company, it’s now San Diego’s first eatery from the Artisanal Brewers Collective out of Los Angeles.

With a native San Diego brewer behind the house beer, which will span styles from all over the world, The Bell Marker offers a menu of upgraded brewpub food. Starters include smoked fish dip made with fresh Idaho river trout, green garlic and Tabasco and braised beets with red quinoa, mint, pomegranate, sherry vinaigrette, dukkah. Pizzas include the salad pie, in which a marinara and cream sauce is topped with chopped salad, and the arrabbiata spiced with pickled chilies and Calabrian chili oil. Entrees range from grilled flat iron steak served with tomatillo jam and crispy fingerling potatoes to a traditional French cassoulet made with either pork fennel sausage or plant-based Impossible meat.
