Ballast Point Brewing’s Old Grove location has just launched an in-house pizza kitchen. The Scripps Ranch brewery first opened in 2004, and functioned as the company’s main production facility until its massive Miramar beer hub debuted in 2014; Ballast Point’s growing empire includes a brewpub in Virginia and another in the works for Chicago.
Formerly fed by food trucks, the brewery is now serving a menu from Ballast Point executive chef Colin MacLaggan and team, which ranges from whole pies, including Thai chicken, pesto and classic pepperoni, to build-your-own pizzas, pies to-go and a combo of two slices and a drink for $10. There are also salads that can be topped with grilled chicken. The new tasting room and kitchen is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
