One of this fall’s most massively-anticipated openings is the first area location of Shake Shack, which is scheduled to launch at Westfield UTC on Thursday, October 12. But local eaters can get a preview of various classic Shake Shack delicacies on San Diego soil at a pre-opening pop-up on Saturday, September 16.

From 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Shake Shack will be serving up its beloved ShackBurgers, ‘Shroom Burgers, Shack Stacks and crinkle cut fries at Modern Times Beer’s Fortress of Ratitude barrel-aging facility and event space, located at 3612 Kurtz Street. Food and drink tickets will be available for purchase at the door for adults 21 and up, as well as for kids under 12. Modern Times Beer will have some of its favorite brews on hand, and entertainment will be provided by a live music lineup curated by Sofar Sounds San Diego and a traveling 1970s VW bus-turned photo booth.
