Two and a half years after opening Halcyon and Stella Public House in adjoining spaces on Island Avenue in the East Village, its owners will replace Stella, which specialized in pizza, with a new arcade bar.
Created to complement Halcyon, which offers breakfast, brunch, coffee and cocktail, B-side Bar is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, September 5 featuring its own bar with craft beer and cocktails, plus happy hour and dinner specials. The former Stella Public House space will now be filled with vintage arcade classics and interactive games ranging from ping-pong to corn-hole, and shuffleboard.
But Stella Public House isn’t disappearing. The Halcyon/Stella Public House pairing will soon be opening anew in San Marcos’ Block C at North City development, which already houses Urge Gastropub and Common House; both eateries are currently expected to open in mid-September. Situated across from each other on the ground floor of the building, flanking a lounge area, the 2,812 square-foot Stella Public House will serve its signature wood-fired pizzas in a craft beer tap room setting while the 1,709 square-foot Halcyon will be an all-day space that’s both a modern coffeehouse and cocktail bar. The eateries will also open up to a large outdoor plaza with additional seating.
