Madison on Park Crafts Cannabis-Infused Cocktail

The latest local bar to roll out a cannabis cocktail is Madison on Park, which opened in 2015 in University Heights. continues to impress with an innovative cocktail program, having recently added their first cannabis cocktail to the menu. While the Mr. Nice Guy, priced at $18, may get you a bit buzzed, it won’t really get you high; the cocktail is made with cannabidiol oil, or CBD. Cold-pressed from the cannabis plant, CBD oil has little to no psychoactive effects and is being touted for it health benefits, from helping to ease anxiety to providing pain relief.

Bar manager Danny Kuehner created the drink, which is a mix of mezcal, CBD oil, matcha, pineapple, coconut milk and lime. It will be on the menu at Madison on Park for at least three months, if not indefinitely. There’s also an optional $5 CBD oil add-on to any of the cocktails on the Build Your Own Old Fashioned menu.

The bar has been experimenting with other out-of-the-box drink ingredients that also are purported to have heath benefits; on the brunch menu are mimosas made with blue-green algae and activated charcoal.
