Young Hickory, which has been a fixture on 30th Street in North Park since 2013, is opening another location in the East Village. The cafe, which serves coffee, craft beer cans and casual daytime eats, will be a tenant in IDEA1, the mixed-use building at 13th and F Streets that’s scheduled to be completed this December; CBRE’s retail experts Reg Kobzi and Michael Peterson represented the tenant and the landlord in the lease. ,
Located on the ground floor of the building, which will include 295 apartment units, Young Hickory will take over a 1,577 square-foot space next to Lola 55, the new chef-driven taco concept that will launch with a 3,200-square-foot fast-casual restaurant. Slated to grand open in January 2018, the cafe will operate from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. offering menu items that include Bird Rock Coffee Roasters coffee, 30 craft beers in cans, acai bowls and panini sandwiches. It will be similar in design to the original Young Hickory and will also have dedicated space in the HUB, IDEA1’s common area courtyard.
