Newly opened within South Campus Plaza at San Diego State University and now serving the school its neighboring community is the newest outpost of Eureka!, the all-American eatery known for its gourmet burgers and well-stocked bar. Its freshly-built 7,000-square-foot restaurant includes tons of outdoor seating and comes complete with interactive games and a stage for live music. The SoCal-based chain first opened locally at Westfield UTC in 2013 and has grown to include locations in several states across the country.

Eureka!’s menu features starters such as lollipop corn dogs and mac n’ cheese balls with housemade beer cheese sauce plus salads, tacos, sandwiches including fried chicken sliders and its signature burgers that range from the Fresno Fig Burger with fig marmalade, melted goat cheese and bacon to the Bison Burger topped with jalapeño bacon jam, smoked mozzarella. At SDSU, its indoor/outdoor bar is stocked with 40 mostly-local craft beers and over 50 small-batch whiskeys; Eureka!’s known for getting its hands on hard-to-get whiskey varieties. There are also speciality drinks, including the summery cocktail called Tan Lines, with vodka, Chareau aloe, lemon, mint, watermelon, and sparkling wine and a booze-free Charcoal Lemonade mocktail made with passion fruit, lemon, and activated charcoal.

The eatery, which stays open until midnight, offers deals and specials throughout the week from a daily “Hoppy” Hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. again from 9 p.m. to close, half-off wine on Tuesdays, brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. plus $5 Bloody Marys and Mimosas all weekend, and Sunday yoga on the patio at 8:45 a.m.
