In 2016, Green Flash Brewing Co. opened a brewery and tasting room on the East Coast in Virginia Beach, VA; this year, the Mira Mesa-based company is heading to the Midwest, where Green Flash will launch a production facility, tasting room and restaurant in Lincoln, Nebraska by the end of 2017. The 10,000-square-foot space, which is close to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, formerly housed Ploughshare Brewing Company; it will have 2,000-square-feet dedicated to the Green Flash’s first full-scale restaurant.

Projected to be up and running by the end of the year, the project includes a brewing facility with an annual capacity of 10,000 BBLs. Overseen by brewmaster Erik Jensen, it will produce both the Green Flash and Alpine lineup for the region. “We hope to become a local favorite in our new Nebraska home,” said co-founder Mike Hinkley in statement, “And we're excited to be closer to our fans across the Midwest. We’ll be sending them fresher Green Flash beer, and hope they will visit us in Lincoln.”
