Downtown Carlsbad has a new drinking and dining destination in Park 101, a multi-level hub and hangout that welcomes neighbohoord families and their dogs. Spanning 8,000-square-feet, the ground floor holds three eateries each with its own food and drink offerings. There’s Park Smoked Meats, where pitmaster Ryan Tuskan is turning out everything from classic brisket to St. Louis ribs and even smoked fish, available by the half or full pound or on a plate with sides ranging from braised collard greens to baked beans.
For those on the go, Deli & Dough is the spot for a quick beverage, from coffee to juice, plus take-away sandwiches and sweet treats that include freshly made doughnuts and ice cream sandwiches made with Niederfranks ice cream. At the Garden Pub, there are 32 beers on tap in addition to draft wine, frozé (frozen rose), sangria, Lillet spritzers, and some small bites.
Park 101’s upstairs hangout, called Tamarack Deck, has another bar, great views and a seating area with fire pits. Food can be purchased at any of the other eateries and enjoyed here, but the deck also has its own snack menu that includes a charcuterie board piled with meat, cheese, pickled vegetables, fresh fruits and dips.
