Founded in 2006, Carruth Cellars operates tasting rooms in Carlsbad and Solana Beach and is celebrating the debut of Carruth Cellars Wine Garden, its new location in Little Italy. Owner/winemaker Adam Carruth, a San Diego native, has been in the wine industry for nearly two decades; using grapes sourced from Northern and Central California, Carruth Cellars does all its wine production, from fermenting to bottling, in its urban wine facility in San Diego.
The winery will be expanding its output to accommodate for the freshly-remodeled Kettner Street tasting room, which includes an indoor lounge and bar and a large outdoor patio filled with trees, plants and communal tables. Open daily from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Carruth Cellars Wine Garden serves a menu that includes a broad array of its wine portfolio, from Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel and Napa County Syrah to Lake County Sauvignon Blanc, which are available by the bottle, glass or in flights of five tastings. There are also four craft beer taps and kombucha. Its wine selection will rotate, as will the cheese offerings for its cheese boards which can be customized and augmented with charcuterie, fruit, spreads, nuts and bread.
