A parking lot off Interstate 8 has been transformed into a new party pad called LOT 8. Located adjacent to the Atwood Hotel in Hotel Circle, the just-launched outdoor venue spans 4,200-square-feet and is run by the hotel’s owner Todd Ferrari (Quad AleHouse) with John Carey of Platinum Party Rentals and chef Nick Brune, whose company Eco Caters handles LOT 8’s culinary component.
The wide-open space, ringed with greenery ranging from vertical gardens to a succulent wall, is completely customizable and large enough to hold up to 300 guests at everything from weddings and corporate events to public and private parties. A recycled horse trailer functions as a the on-site cocktail bar while a shipping container serves as its kitchen. LOT 8’s first public event is scheduled for next month as an installment of Brune’s roving SoundBite dinner series that pairs a multi-course dinner with music.

Another local caterer has found new home in the bash! Boutique at 3821 32nd Street. The Wild Thyme Company has moved into the 2,500-square-foot North Park space that holds 50 guests. Run by chef Dawn Tangeman, the bash! Boutique plans to host intimate weddings, rehearsal dinners, baby and bridal showers, meetings and parties. With a layout that includes a lounge area and a built-in photo booth, the venue will also offer regular public events including pop-up dinners and wine tastings.
