Whisknladle Hospitality’s Prepkitchen in La Jolla, one of three local outposts of the farm-to-table eatery, has outfitted its adjacent outdoor patio with a new look in preparation for al fresco dining season. Now shaded by striped umbrellas and stocked with new blue and white bistro seating, the patio’s debut is timed with the launch of a freshly updated all-day menu from the restaurant’s culinary team.

Signature dishes, including the chipotle-braised chicken chilaquiles and squid ink spaghetti, are now served all day along with Prepkitchen’s sandwiches ranging from the fried chicken sandwich to its killer burger. The new format also features a section dubbed Simple Entrees that enable guests to select from an array of protein preparations, including white wine garlic prawns, porter-braised beef and garlic and rosemary roasted chicken, each served with sides of sautéed vegetables and roasted potatoes. A rep for the restaurant says this menu design is first being tested at this location before potentially being extended to the Prepkitchens in Del Mar and Little Italy.
