Crab Hut Opens In Mira Mesa With New Raw Bar & Craft Cocktails

MIRA MESA— For the first anniversary celebration of its Mira Mesa location this Thursday, March 16, Crab Hut has signed up the team behind local Sandwich Emporium to create a special menu of seafood-focused sandwiches for the night that includes the $12 Macky Cheese Melt with blackened shrimp and mac and cheese on sourdough and the $13 Saigon Grinder with sauteed shrimp, homemade pickled daikon and carrots plus cilantro, cucumber and aioli on garlic-pressed ciabatta. Beverage director David Tye has also created drinks just for the occasion featuring Malahat Spirits Co., $10 sippers that range from the Year of the Crab with Malahat Black Tea Rum, lemon, ginger-pear syrup and absinthe to the tropical Admiral Overboard that combines Malahat’s White Rum with lychee, coconut, lime, grenadine and pineapple. RANCHO SANTA FE— Ponsaty’s has kicked of a new dinner series that will feature a menu themed for a different French region every month, with each tapas-sized dish available a la carte or as a multi-course dinner with optional wine pairings. French Master Chef Patrick Ponsaty will spotlight the Alsace region from April 1 to April 15, highlight the Midi-Pyrénées region and the city of Toulouse from May 1 to May 13 and focus on Provence from June 1 to June 15.
