Puesto Turns Five With Tacos

Plus, Cafe Gratitude’s lunch special & Pacific Del Mar’s Oscar party

AROUND TOWN— Since first opening in La Jolla five years ago, Puesto has amassed a fervent following for its Mexico City-style, crispy, melted cheese tacos and expanded to include a location at The Headquarters and a just-launched outpost in Irvine. To celebrate the fifth anniversary of its founding the eatery will introduce a new taco of the month at all locations, starting with February’s special, a Chipotle Pork Tinga Taco made with braised pork shoulder, chorizo, potato, chipotle, avocado, cilantro, queso fresco, and chicharrón. It will be followed by March’s taco of grilled panela, salsa fresca and seasonal vegetables and a goat cheese chorizo fundido and pork belly taco that will be featured in April. [EaterWire]

LITTLE ITALY— Café Gratitude has introduced a new promotion geared toward female diners; dubbed ‘Ladies Who Lunch’, the initiative encourages women to gather at the 100% plant-based, organic eatery for a leisurely and convivial meal by offering a complimentary appetizer to groups of four or more who make a reservation between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. [EaterWire]

DEL MAR— Pacifica Del Mar’s annual Oscar Party will be held in its Ocean Bar on Sunday, February 26 with the viewing party kicking off with red carpet arrivals at 4 p.m. The eatery will run its happy hour specials all night, from half-off small plates to $2 off beer, wines by the glass, and featured cocktails. Predict the award-winners by filling out Pacifica’s ballot cards for a chance to win gift cards to the restaurant. [EaterWire]
