Might there soon be a Breakfast Republic to feed every neighborhood? The fast-growing eatery opened its seventh outpost over the weekend in Pacific Beach, it’s the fourth opening this year for the breakfast concept from owner Johan Engman of Rise & Shine Restaurant Group and at 4,500-square-feet, its largest location yet. In September, Engman took over longtime Mission Boulevard sports bar Miller’s Field, remodeling the space to include Breakfast Republic’s now-recognizable design elements — from playful signage to hanging whisk lights.
Open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., the eatery features a large central bar mixing up favorite brunch cocktails including Beermosas, Micheladas, Mules, and Bloody Marys. Other beverages on tap range from craft beer and prosecco to cold brew and kombucha. The menu features all of its popular breakfast plates, including Shrimp & Grits, Pancake Flights and French Toast Samplers.
And the hit breakfast spot is still expanding; an eighth location, this time in North County at The Shoppes at Carlsbad, is currently scheduled to open in ay 2018.
