Park & Rec, University Heights’ open air drinking spot that first opened in 2015, is reactivating its in-house food service. The venue, which holds multiple bars, outdoor games and more, shuttered its food window earlier this year and had been allowing patrons to bring in outside food.

Enter neighboring restaurant and cocktail bar Madison on Park, which has created a fresh menu that will launch on Tuesday, November 14 and be served from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. Park & Rec has become popular for its 80s cover bands, and its new food window also has an 80s vibe, complete with staff wearing vintage tees . Dubbed Renegade, its menu includes some favorite dishes from Madison on Park, including the watermelon stack with grilled halloumi cheese, avocado, mint, lime, jalapeño vinaigrette and harissa olive oil, plus additions ranging from sambal chicken skewers to carnitas-topped tater tots and a variety of grilled cheese sandwiches that includes a riff on the Cubano. Renegade will eventually be seven days a week, adding weekend brunch hours and brunch eats.
