Nonna, a new “red sauce” Italian restaurant and cafe from the Busalacchi family, will open in the space formerly occupied by Trattoria Fantastica and Cafe Zucherro. The late October opening comes after an almost six-month renovation and boasts 5,000-square feet of indoor/outdoor space, a 75-seat outdoor back patio, an 8-seat bar and a front patio on India Street.
The new menu was selected by Chefs Nino Zizzo and Joe Busalacchi and will focus on Italian comfort food, including chicken parmesan, pasta bolognese, spaghetti and meatballs cooked from recipes out of the Busalacchi family recipe stash. The café will serve pastries, cookies, gelato and coffee.
Nonna is located at 1735 India Street in Little Italy. The restaurant and connected café will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.
