StreetCar Merchants shuttered its La Jolla location to make way for a new restaurant. “Yes, it’s true,” owner Ron Suel told Eater, “We were doing well in the spot, but we were approached by a group to sell, so we sold the location. It was an offer we couldn’t refuse.” Suel didn’t name StreetCar’s successor, but the word on the street is that an eatery named Parachute Brunch and Supper Club is moving in.
StreetCar Merchants specializes in fried chicken, Nashville hot chicken, chicken and waffles, and Southern sides. The North Park location is still open, and Suel said that StreetCar is looking for another location in Pacific Beach and hinted that a Denver outpost is in the works.
