Tour Newly Opened Stella Public House and Halcyon Coffee

Wood-fired pizza and brunch

Texas transplants Stella Public House and Halcyon Coffee Bar & Lounge opened this week in San Marcos. The two concepts are located across from each other and look onto to North City Plaza, which holds extended outdoor seating. Their designs are different than the East Village eateries; Texas-based designer Joel Mozersky previously shared that Halcyon, the daytime coffeehouse that turns into a casual bar and lounge at night, is modern, clean and colorful while Stella Public House, the artisan wood-fired pizzeria featuring craft beer and wine, is warmer, with wood, Carrera marble, and steel details.

Stella and Halcyon co-owner, John Long said, “We love the North City project. The vision is exciting, and we are thrilled to be a part of the long-term growth and sustainability of San Marcos - and all of San Diego’s North County. We are happy to be included in this new destination that will truly create a hub of everything our brands care about: community, quality design and sustainability.”

Stella Public House and Halcyon are located at 250 North City Dr., San Marcos. Both locations are open 7 a.m. until 1 a.m., Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. until 2 a.m. on Fridays, 8 a.m. until 2 a.m. on Saturdays, and 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sundays.
