Among the new array of eats coming to Westfield UTC is a fresh location of Great Maple, the modern American eatery that debuted in Hillcrest in 2013 but was first founded at Fashion Island in Newport Beach in 2011. The UTC outpost, which spans nearly 5,000-square-feet with an additional 1,500-square-foot patio, is currently scheduled to open in January 2018.
It will have the same food and drink offerings as its just-launched Pasadena location rather that the smaller, more specialized Hillcrest menu. Serving lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, the restaurant offers a full bar along with dishes ranging from truffled deviled eggs, ancient grains salad and salted caramel pork ribs at dinner to prime rib dip, French toast logs and the fan-favorite maple bacon doughnuts at brunch.
Co-founder Mark David shared, "We at Great Maple are extremely grateful to the people of San Diego for their enthusiasm and continued support of our Hillcrest location. Given the success of Great Maple in the San Diego market, it seemed natural for us to open a second location. The new location will blend coastal California and mid-century modern elements to the design while seamlessly incorporating a large outdoor patio, all to take maximum advantage of the beautiful year-round climate. We knew UTC would be the perfect fit for Great Maple and look forward to serving the La Jolla community."
