First premiering in La Jolla in 2015, with a well-received follow-up launched in Liberty Station in 2016, luxury cinema and restaurant The Lot is scheduled to debut in Del Mar in March 2019 at 2707 Via De La Valle where it will be constructed next to Gelson’s Market. Providing a deluxe movie-watching experience, The Lot offers both in-theater dining and an attached restaurant and bar; the Del Mar location will span over 29,000-square-feet and include eight theaters.
The luxury cinema/restaurant is currently on an expansion streak, with a Fashion Island outpost slated to open in early 2018 followed by a Bay Area branch in Fall 2018. The Lot’s Xochitl Cerda also told Eater that more are in the works for the San Diego area, including another location in Scripps Ranch that should open in a development called The Watermark by early 2020. Meanwhile, there’s a new chef in The Lot kitchen; Matt Richman (Table 926, Beaumont’s) will refresh the menus at La Jolla and Liberty Station, with new offerings rolling out on November 1 that include more vegan and vegetarian options.
