Beer from Cismontane Brewing Co. has long been available in San Diego, but the Orange County brewery will soon have a presence here in Escondido. First founded in 2009 in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Cismontane sold its original location and brewery last fall to Laguna Beach Beer Company and is in the process of relocating its brewing facility to Santa Ana, where the company operates another tap room; this past June, Cismontane made the news for its acquisition of brewing equipment assets from Poway-based Lightning Brewery.

Cismontane co-founder Evan Weinberg has purchased two retail units spanning 9,300 square-feet in downtown Escondido at 237 and 243 E. Valley Parkway. Location Matters’ Marc Karren represented the seller of the property, where fitness company CrossFit Iconic current occupies 7,000-square-feet of the space. The microbrewery, which received a silver medal at this year’s Great American Beer Festival for The Mesa, an American Wild Ale brewed with grapes, will reportedly move into the remaining 2,300-square-feet with a new beer and coffee concept.
