MIRAMAR— 2017 will be big for Mikkeller Brewing in San Diego, as the brewery and tap room in Miramar, launched by legendary Danish brewer, Mikkel Borg Bjergsø and San Diego beer superstar Peter Zien (AleSmith) announced that it will release at least one new small-batch beer every week this year. The series kicks off on Thursday, January 12 from noon to 10 p.m., with an event that will have Bjergsø and the rest of the Mikkeller brew team in attendance, tapping three new beers including Fruit Face, a Berliner Weisse brewed with raspberries and coffee. Bjergsø will also be signing cans and bottles of the new releases and copies of his book, “Mikkeller's Book of Beer”. AROUND TOWN— Caffeine Crawl, the biggest local specialty coffee event of the year, returns January 20 to 22. Ticket holders purchase routes, access by bike or car, that include stops at five or six different shops, with over 25 participating locations ranging from Bird Rock Coffee Roasters and Dark Horse Coffee Roasters to Heartwork Coffee Bar and Cafe Virtuoso.
