Gaslamp Speakeasy Prohibition Reopening This Week

The bar is back

Craft cocktail fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Eater has word that Prohibition, the belowground bar on 5th Avenue, will reopen this Wednesday, January 25. The 1920s-inspired drinking den has been on hiatus since 1919, the sports bar upstairs, closed earlier this month.

But management assures us that it’s back to business as usual at the speakeasy, which is open from Wednesday through Saturday from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and offers live music each night. As for the still-shuttered upstairs space, we’re hearing that it’s in the process of being revamped with the intent of relaunching in the not-so-distant future.
