San Diego's food truck fleet has a new member, Herb'n Donuts, which has been pulling up to local events, breweries, and more — the mobile doughnut shop is currently scheduled to park at B Street Pier for San Diego Beer Fest on September 23.

Created by San Diego chef/caterer Edwin Blumberg, the truck is specializing in sweet and savory sandwiches made with fresh gluten-free doughnuts. The made-to-order doughnuts are infused with organic agave for dessert sandwich variations including strawberries and cream or banana maple bacon, and flavored with rosemary for salty concoctions which range from grilled cheese to doughnut burgers and doughnut eggs Benedicts. Blumberg also serves Yo-Nuts™, gluten-free doughnut holes made with organic Greek yogurt, fried in coconut oil, and offered with a choice of 30 sauces including guava-lime, sea salt caramel, and pineapple coconut curry.

To celebrate its launch, Herb'n Donuts is sponsoring a contest that asks participants to come up with a unique doughnut flavor competition, with the winner getting to name the flavor and eat free doughnuts for a year.
