Carruth Cellars Uncorks New Tasting Room in Carlsbad

Get some local wine in your glass

Carlsbad's new live fire-fueled restaurant and cocktail den, Campfire, opens today on a food and drink-dense block that includes fresh storefronts for Baba Coffee, which is pouring Pannikin Coffee and local craft beer and featuring Prager Bros Bread and VG Donuts, and a new tasting room from Carruth Cellars Urban Winery. It's the third North County outpost for Carruth, which has been locally producing wine sourced from grapes from Northern and Central California for six years and operates two locations on South Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach.

Owner/winemaker Adam Carruth hails from Carlsbad, where the new 1,500-square-foot tasting room with 500-square-foot patio is now open daily from 3 to 10 p.m serving wine tastings or wine by the glass or bottle alongside snack plates from Venissimo Cheese. A grand opening event is scheduled for Saturday, October 1 when the first 100 guests will receive a commemorative souvenir glass and all bottles will be 30% off bottles; it will also usher in Carruth's regular operating hours of noon to 11 p.m. daily.
