An iconic Hillcrest building, formerly a 1920s dance hall, is being transformed by a local real estate and development firm into The Wall, a new urban hub which is seeking a dynamic restaurant tenant that will appeal to the neighborhood and beyond.
Brandon Blum, managing partner of SBMI Group | Real Estate Management & Investments, tells Eater that the company's fresh design for the site includes living green walls, a sidewalk patio, and an artist's mural spanning the east wall that will feature a theme or subject decided on by the community.
The 5,000-square-feet of available restaurant/retail space on the ground floor is divisible, and the University Avenue building will have offices on its second level. Blum says SBMI's buildout should be done in 90 days and hopes that their future restaurant tenant will be up and running before January 2017.
