More morning eats for the neighborhood

Buoyed by the overwhelming success of Breakfast Republic, which opened in North Park in last year and just expanded into Liberty Station, Rise and Shine Restaurant Group owner Johan Engman is bringing another morning-centric eatery to the North Park neighborhood.

Engman, who also runs the Fig Tree Cafe locations and is co-developing a ceviche concept in the East Village, told Eater that he's "excited to bring North Park under our wing for breakfast" with the launch of the new North Park Breakfast Company at 3131 University Avenue which is slated to open in January 2017.

The 2,125-square-foot space will include a garage-style door that opens onto a bar, a dining room with couch seating, and a living wall studded with succulents; a new second floor deck will add an open-air dining option. North Park Breakfast Company's menu of creative morning fare will range from quinoa-blueberry and guava pancakes to Denver omelet sliders, bone marrow and chorizo with quail eggs and egg yolk-filled breakfast ravioli with pork belly. It will also serve cocktails, wine, craft beer and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks.
