Female-Led Craft Distillery Opening This Fall in the East Village

Located just a short stroll from Punch Bowl Social, the new dining and entertainment venue slated for the East Village, will be a new craft distillery that has the distinction of being California's first urban distillery headed up by a female distiller. Founder and lead distiller Laura Johnson, a USD grad, is opening You & Yours Distilling Co. in the base of the mixed-use Form 15 building.

Spanning a 2,300-square-foot space, the distillery will have a lounge area and a tasting bar that will pour small samples of straight spirits and mini cocktails, and be able to sell bottles of the spirits. You & Yours will also offer weekend tours of the distillery where Johnson, who also writes the spirits blog Distillerista, will use custom hybrid eau de vie stills to produce various kinds of gin and vodka, un-aged fruit brandies using local ingredients, and whiskey. Though it was originally scheduled to open by late summer,the distillery's new due date is October.
