A long-planned, large-scale project is finally getting underway here at home for Stone Brewing. The craft brewery, which is getting ready to formally open its new brewery restaurant in Berlin, Germany next month and is working on a tasting room in Northern California's wine country, has announced details for its new branded Stone Hotel, which will open across the street from its main production facility and restaurant, Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Escondido.
The $26 million project will be set on 13 acres, span 100,000-square-feet, and of course, be centered around beer. The hotel will feature three bars on premise and hotel guests will receive free Stone beer when they check-in, plus have the ability to request growlers delivered right to their rooms. Designing the project, which includes 99 guest rooms, an 8,000 square-foot ballroom, a 10,000 square-foot rooftop garden next to the pool, and almost an acre of outdoor event space, is prominent local designer Paul Basile of BASILE Studio (Ironside, KINDRED, North Park Beer Company); the guest rooms will feature Basile signatures, including custom furniture and his trademark floor-to-ceiling windows that will flip open onto large balconies.
This first Stone Hotel is scheduled to open in early 2018; Stone co-founders Greg Koch and Steve Wagner will be working with Untitled Hospitality to grow the hotel brand, which will be partnering with local developer McMillin LLC to build-out the property.
