Scheduled to make its public debut on Wednesday, August 17 is Red Card Café, a newly redesigned indoor/outdoor eatery that takes the place of Kitchen 4140 in the Bay Ho neighborhood. New proprietor Caroline Sternberg translated a passion for European football into a restaurant inspired by cultures around the globe; executive chef Drew Lopez, formerly the executive sous chef at S&M Sausage and Meat, heading up a menu of over a dozen iconic world street foods ranging from Canadian poutine and Argentine empanadas to Polish pierogi and Chinese pork buns. The brunch menu includes prosciutto-topped avocado toast, lemon-poppy pancakes, "duck legs and eggs" and French crepes.
The space spans a main dining room filled with a mix of booths and tables with a 14-tap bar, a back room with a communal table and lounge area, plus a large outdoor patio. Red Card will offer lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, with brunch and dinner on weekends.
