Freshly minted in Rancho Santa Fe is Ponsaty's, named for Master French chef Patrick Ponsaty, corporate chef of The Grand Restaurant Group. The hospitality group, which also operates Bellamy's Restaurant in Escondido and The Ranch at Bandy Canyon, redesigned the former Delicias space, which now features a main dining room flanked by large front and back patios with an herb garden and fire and water features, plus a bar and lounge area with TVs.
Open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday, its chef-driven menu is based on classic dishes from the Basque region spanning France and Spain, executed with local and seasonal ingredients; in the kitchen with Ponsaty is executive chef Alain Delahaye, most recently of Vincent's in Escondido. Ponsaty's beverage program ranges from craft cocktails to a serious scotch list — with more than 30 options — and a well-sourced wine list with over 300 selections.
