East County has a brand new playground for grownups with the debut of Coin Haus, the newest offering from the Cohn Restaurant Group in La Mesa. Designed by Philippe Beltran, the 2,400-square-foot space holds 29 retro arcade classics and a couple new games, including Game of Thrones pinball. The industrial-inspired hangout features garage doors that roll up onto a sidewalk patio and a 24-foot-long shipping container transformed into a 50-tap self-serve system that's currently pouring 43 craft beers, 4 keg wines, hard kombucha, cider and Modern Times' cold brew.
Open until midnight Monday through Thursday, 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 p.m. on Sunday, Coin Haus is offering 20% off games and beer until 6 p.m. daily. There's no food service, but CRG's Bo-Beau Kitchen + Garden is just next door for pre- or post-game noshing.
