A year after first opening in North Park and drawing crowds for its morning-centric menu, Breakfast Republic marches into Liberty Station with a second location that will debut this Saturday, July 16.

Owner Johan Engman, who also operates Fig Tree Cafe in the Point Loma complex, has decorated the 1.520-square-foot space and 600-square-foot patio with electric fixtures and cheeky quotes that will be familiar to fans of the original University Avenue eatery.

The full menu, ranging from eggs Benedicts, omelets and scramble to pancakes, French toast and breakfast spins on globally-inspired dishes, including breakfast jambalaya and a Vietnamese chicken wing breakfast bowl, will be available from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. All new to this location is a full liquor license, which means craft cocktails on top of beer and wine; signature drinks include the Cluckin' Margarita with cucumber and house hot sauce and the Ginger Kombucha Mule.

Also new are extended operating hours, from 3 to 8 p.m., during which a light, condensed version of the breakfast menu will be served and cocktails will be offered with half-off happy hour pricing.
