Isola Pizza Bar Bringing the Wood-Fired Heat to La Jolla

Little Italy’s Isola Pizza Bar declared its intention to expand to La Jolla in 2014, and it seems the time has finally come to witness the reveal at the new 7734 Girard Ave. address. According to tipsters, Isola hosted a soft opening last week and will open the doors to the public next week.

Chef/owner Massimo Tennino and team have spent the past year and a half renovating the 2,500-square-foot space, which includes a sidewalk patio. Most recently, the site was occupied by Nosh Delicatessen.

The original location of Isola opened on India Street in 2012. When it debuts, the La Jolla location will have expanded food offerings. Look for thin, wood-fired pizzas and housemade pastas.
