Solare Ristorante's Thank You Italian Festa

Plus a pig roast on a hop farm and a Chicks for Beer dinner with Border X

LIBERTY STATION— In honor of the recent "Best of San Diego" awards bestowed by San Diego Magazine upon Solare Ristorante for Best Chef, Best Italian Restaurant and runner-up for Best Wine List, the Point Loma eatery is throwing a "Grazie Mille" Festa tonday from 4 to 7 p.m. The open house will have live music and an Italian picnic theme, with complimentary tray-passed bites from executive chef Accursio Lota and other dishes available for purchase, includes plates of  whole spring lamb. VALLEY CENTER— A worthy excursion is scheduled on Saturday, July 9 at 3 p.m. when Nopalito Farm & Hopyard host a the Summer BBQ & Hopyard Hangout. Tickets start at $55, which a optional shuttle service to Valley Center from starting points at local breweries and include beer from Amplified Ale Works and Monkey Paw Brewing Company, a live butchering demo and whole pig roast from The Heart & Trotter Butchery with all-you-can-eat tacos and a special cocktail from George's at the Cove's Stephen Kurpinsky that features fresh hop-infused lemonade. BAY PARK— The High Dive's next Chicks for Beer dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, July 19 at 7 p.m. and will feature Border X Brewery from Barrio Logan. Its head brewer will be on hand to take the ladies-only crowd through five courses from executive chef RoseAna Peyron paired with the brewery's beers. Tickets are $45 in advance. [EaterWire]
