When the three-day Kaaboo experience returns to the Del Mar Racetrack + Fairgrounds for its second year on Friday, September 16, marquee chefs will share top billing with the festival's music and comedy stars. This time around, the event's Palate culinary stage will feature celebrity chef appearances running in length from 30 minutes to an hour and ranging from hands-on cooking demos to meet and greets.
Among the all-star chefs scheduled to appear are 'Top Chef' alums Richard Blais of Juniper & Ivy and a 'Top Chef All-Stars' winner, Marcel Vigneron (Top Chef' season 2 runner up), buzzed–about Los Angeles chefs Ray Garcia of Broken Spanish and Otium's Timothy Hollingsworth, industry vet Josiah Citrin (Melisse) and San Diego's own Brian Malarkey (Herb & Wood).

This year, Kaaboo Del Mar's food and drink offerings have also been ramped up; attendees will be able to purchase wine, spirits and craft beer and plates put together by participating restaurants including Puesto, Beerfish, Buona Forchetta, City Tacos, Saiko Sushi and more. And its live cooking contest, the Rockin’ Chef Competition, is back; Chef's Roll will be conducting several regional competitions, with the finalists competing for a panel of judges at Kaaboo in September.
