Civico 1845 Cooks Up Special Anniversary Menu

Plus, Ocean Pacific Grille also turns one & Avant hosts a tequila tasting

LITTLE ITALY— Brothers and co-owners Dario and Pietro Gallo are celebrating the first anniversary of Civico 1845 with a special menu of all new dishes inspired by the Italian hometowns of the team behind their India Street restaurant; the Gallos hail from the southern region on Calabria, while manager Flavio Piromallo is from Naples and head chef Alfonso Pisacane is from Positano. Ranging from handmade eggplant ravioli with smoked buffalo mozzarella and fresh cherry tomatoes to a half Maine lobster with black squid ink linguine, the menu will be available starting Monday, June 27 through Sunday, July 3. GASLAMP— Ocean Pacific Grille is turning one with an anniversary celebration party scheduled for Monday, June 27. Executive chef Charles Andres will be joined by six local chef friends, including Cork & Craft's Tony Guan, Robert Villicano from Common Theory and Chris Gentile from Double Standard, who will all be providing food samples. Tickets are $60 and include a welcome mai tai in addition to performances by the Samahan Philippine Dance Company and live music. RANCHO BERNARDO— Avant at the Rancho Bernardo Inn will host a Double Barrel Herradura Tequila tasting, Thursday, June 30; from 6 to 7:30 p.m., four different stations will be pouring handcrafted tequila and cocktail, paired with bites from chef de cuisine Aaron Thomas that range from skirt steak with fire roasted tomato, peach and onion puree to seafood ceviche.
