The company announced its expansion here last fall, but starting at 10 a.m. this morning, San Diego Uber drivers will be transporting food as well as people via the UberEATS app. San Diego is the 11th city to have access to the app, which offers full menus from 100 local restaurants. The service is available from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and for a limited time, delivery is free.
How does it work? Just download the app for iOS or Android, login with your Uber account information and select a restaurant and food order — participating restaurants include Carnitas' Snack Shack, Puesto, The Rose, Donut Bar, Brian Malarkey's Green Acre, Bread & Cie and Ike's Deli. Once you place the order using your card on file, you can track it in the app as an Uber delivery driver brings it to your location.
