The latest offering from Urban Kitchen Group founder and principle, Tracy Borkum, quietly opened doors in Kensington yesterday. The re-conceptualized 3,500 square-foot space at 4055 Adams Avenue has been transformed via Borkum’s signature ‘Bohemian-chic’ design esthetic with pops of color and floral prints, plush pillows, ornate fixtures, and foliage throughout.

Under the direction of Urban Kitchen Group executive chef Joe Magnanelli, newly appointed chef de cuisine Daniel Wolinsky will oversee day to day operations, and brings nearly a decade of experience from multiple New York City staples in addition to Massimo Bottura’s three-star Michelin restaurant Osteria Francescana (Modena, Italy). As far as SORELLA’s culinary program, expect a new spin on CUCINA’s signature Cal-Italian cuisine, with an emphasis on authentic handcrafted pastas, seasonal antipasti plates, both small and large; sweet and savory.

Regional wine director Augusto Ferrarese has curated an extensive list of Italian varietals and regional producers from the West Coast. Rounding out the beverage program, the bar offers nearly a dozen seasonal cocktails, a selection of local craft beer on draught, and 0-proof libations.

Interactive hands-on pasta making classes with chef Wolinsky, who will educate guests on the art of pasta and traditional Italian cooking techniques, are also in the works.
