What was once a gallery above Landini's Pizzeria has been transformed into a modern restaurant serving an Italian menu by owners Christine and Leonardo Landini, who designed the new eatery to function as a full-service extension of their New York-style pizzeria and provide a sit-down space that's more intimate than their casual, dog-friendly back patio.
Decorated with Landini family photos, Ristorante Illando is now open for lunch and dinner daily pouring local craft beer and an all-Italian wine list. At lunch, a four-course set menu is available for $15 while the dinner offerings feature antipasti ranging from beef or octopus carpaccio to burrata with prosciutto and a meatball trio. There are also salads, pastas and entrees that include chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce or New York steak in red wine and soy sauce, all cooked in the downstairs kitchen. And of course, there is pizza; though instead of being sold by the slice, the pizzas upstairs are served as 18-inch whole pies.
