Grant Grill's Nautical Cocktails; Viva Pops Expands to Scripps Ranch

Plus, OB Surf Lodge replaces Shades

DOWNTOWN— As we head into the summer season, the Grant Grill has released a new cocktail menu, dubbed 'Three Sheets to the Wind' from the mind of 'chef de bar' Cory Alberto inspired by nautical themes and coastal influences. The Star of India combines Old Harbor Navy Strength rum with gin, aloe liqueur, yellow chartreuse, glogg and housemade Buddha’s Hand bitters while the SS Monte Carlo mixes Henebery whiskey with port, dry vermouth, Crème Yvette, coriander blossom, mascarpone cheese and blueberry. And pina colada fans might like the East Indie Fizz, a blend of Carta Blanca rum, coconut, micro cilantro, pistachio and lime. [EaterWire]

The new ownership team just happens to operate the adjacent Wonderland Ocean Pub, as well as The Local in Pacific Beach and downtown. They'll remodel the space and reopen it as OB Surf Loungetelling that is will be a breakfast-focused concept. []
