NORMAL HEIGHTS— The purveyors of fine beverages at Sycamore Den have released their spring/summer cocktail menu from new general manager Eric Giger, assistant manager Jesse Ross and bartender Nick Messina. The fresh list includes the sweet, sour and smoky Ghost Ship Revival made with mezcal, Lillet Blanc, Licor 43, fresh lemon and cucumber, the straight-shooting Diplomacy Game that mixes rye whiskey, aged rum, sweet vermouth, Campari and coffee liqueur and a daiquiri variation, Nice Mangos, that combines a housemade rum blend with mango, fresh lime, falernum, allspice bitters and absinthe. GASLAMP— Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, the concept replacing Acqua al 2 in the Gaslamp at 322 5th Avenue, has set a mid-June opening date. The neighborhood burger joint, which has several locations in Arizona, is from Square One Concepts hospitality group which is also connected to downtown's Bootlegger and the Pacific Beach Shore Club. POINT LOMA— New tacos are on tap at EAT at The Pearl, for $3.50 each or two for $5 now during its weekday happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. and all night on Tuesdays in the bar and lounge. There's a house carnitas taco, topped with pickled red onions, cilantro and salsa verde, and a mahi mahi taco from sister eatery Tacos Perla, which fries the fish in a curry beer batter and garnishes it with mango salsa, chipotle mayo and ginger ketchup; both tacos are served on hand-pressed tortillas.
