Famous for their award-winning barbecue, iconic fast-casual Phil’s BBQ opened doors to its seventh location earlier today in Rancho Bernardo. In place of the old Elephant Bar at 17051 West Bernardo Drive, the new space marks their fourth stand-alone restaurant in San Diego, in addition to two concession-style outposts at Petco Park and San Diego International Airport.

Founder and CEO Phil Pace said that he is excited to open this newest project and looks forward to being a part of the Rancho Bernardo community.

The 7,720-square-foot building underwent a substantial remodel with a focus on sustainability and eco-friendly attributes, including a reverse osmosis water purification system and 100% energy star compliant appliances. In addition to eco-design elements, the new digs also features a full bar filled with a selection of local craft brews and specialty cocktails, oversized televisions, an LED sports ticker and state of the art sound system. The barbecue-focused menu will showcase Phil's classic offerings, among the favorites are its ribs, barbecued chicken, and char-grilled beef.
