In addition to its stellar craft beer and wine selection, Krisp Beverage + Natural Foods on Seventh Avenue has installed a new pizza counter in the front of the shop, which is now slinging $2 slices and $15 18-inch whole pies from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Based on dough made with Italian flour that gets a 48-hour rise, the pizzas can be customized with sauce, from traditional red sauce to pesto and barbecue, and loaded with toppings ranging from goat cheese and ricotta to spicy sausage, soy chorizo and a variety of vegetables. Krisp also offers eight speciality pizzas, including the Hello Honey!, topped with dates, crushed red pepper, blue cheese, local Mikolich farm honey and mozzarella, and the Smoked Out, which comes with chicken sausage, bacon, red onion, cilantro, mozzarella and barbecue sauce. The eatery will also be adding salads to the menu, plus more house-made toppings and and daily specials cooked in a commercial smoker. Krisp will soon have a sidewalk patio for dining, which should be compete by mid-May.
The pizza can be picked up at the store or delivered straight to homes and offices; Krisp recently launched a free delivery service to surrounding neighborhoods that also extends to beer, wine, liquor, snacks and more.
