Moto Deli Debuts Food Truck; World Curry Turns 10

Plus, Coronado Brewing Co. starts canning

ENCINITAS— Chef Alex Carballo is still prepping his gourmet sandwich shop, Moto Deli, set to launch this April. But before the brick-and-mortar location opens, Carballo has rolled out a Moto Deli Food Truck to give North County a taste of what's to come. The truck will be parked at the site of the eventual eatery at 810 North Coast Hwy 101 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Thursday and Friday and it will also hit the road, with scheduled appearances at the upcoming El Cajon Craft Beer Invitation and Mission Valley Craft Beer & Food Festival, plus stops at local brewery tasting rooms. PACIFIC BEACH— Executive chef Mike Contento is celebrating 10 years at World Curry with a special event scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9 that will feature a local art show, live acoustic music and plates of Contento's "off menu" favorites, including vindaloo poppers, curry cheese fries, teriyaki edamame and sweet and sour marinated chicken karaage for $5 each. AROUND TOWN— Coronado Brewing Company has released its first canned beers, which include two classic styles, Islander IPA and Orange Avenue Wit, plus a new core beer, Easy Up Pale Ale. On Sunday, April 3, the brewery will throw a grand release party poolside at The Lafayette Hotel in North Park, that will feature live music and a 'meet the brewer' pool session. [EaterWire]
